Most of our work is not represented on this web-site, as it consists of work undertaken at the request of schools, parishes, or other groups, and tailor-made to suit their needs.  The programme is based on consultation with their staff, and where possible with their young people as well.  We either run the whole programme, or work alongside school, youth club or parish staff.

Such courses can either be run in our own premises at Southwell House, either for a day or residentially, or in your centre or school.  Each way of doing things has its own advantages and disadvantages.  We have eight youth workers, and so the maximum size of group that we can manage at one time in a school or other centre is probably about 160.   Ideally we prefer to work with a better staff/young person ratio, to make discussion easier.  On our own premises the limit is the available space, and we can only manage up to about 55 for a day programme, or about 50 plus staff for a residential programme.  Further information about the accommodation available here is given on another page.

Many of the topics given in our booklet or on this web-site, both in the parish and schools sections, can be adapted to suit your needs, or a new course can be designed from scratch.  Additional topics include: mentoring (older pupils helping and supporting younger ones), careers education, and preparation for careers choices or for the application process, interview skills, personal development, stress management, aspects of personal development and sexuality, building a community, learning to work together, bullying, discrimination, assertiveness training, communication skills, and others.

If you might be interested in an individually planned programme for your group, please phone or e-mail to discuss details.  A facilitator will be appointed to work with you to plan the programme and its delivery.

We can plan and deliver programmes on a wide range of topics; for some ideas please consult the list of programmes for schools and the list of programmes for groups of young people..
