"Let's face it" is a programme which offers to young people of 6th form age or over the chance to look more seriously at the issues of poverty and homelessness in Britain. It provides an opportunity for a placement within an organisation working with the homeless in London through which the participants will meet people whose lives are directly affected by poverty and homelessness. There will also be time and space to share something of these experiences with the other participants back at Southwell House, and to explore the issues further through debate, video, discussion, drama, games, and so on.

From all this participants gain an understanding and insight into poverty and homelessness in Britain today, and what various organisations are doing to combat it.

Participants in previous years have found this a worthwhile, insightful, and challenging experience.

Because of the need to provide good quality placements for every participant, places on this programme are very limited.

Arrangements  Friday November 28th 2008 5pm to Sunday 30th  2pm.   Cost £45..
