This is a one day programme for adults and
other leaders, especially those who come from the voluntary sector, who work with groups
of young people. It is intended to give a general introduction to child protection
as an important topic for all adults who work with the young. It is very much based on two beliefs - that a good child protection policy does not prevent exciting activities for young people, and that leaders should be protected when they work within a sound policy framework. The day includes a number of activities, and does not include lectures. As a result, it presents a positive and achievable implementation of safe working with young and vulnerable people. A booklet and some other helpful information is provided. The cost of this programme is £40 including refreshments and lunch, or £20 for those who work in a voluntary capacity with young people. A further reduction to £10 is available to young people up to the age of 19 who work as leaders or assistants with young people. Arrangements: Saturday November 8th 2008, 10.00am to 4.00pm. Cost as above. The programme is available for individual groups who may need it. |
